Plea to arrest accused involved in misuse of funds

Shillong, Oct 11: The SP of West Garo Hills was urged to take legal action against Dipak Kaur Mishra, the principal of Tikrikilla college and four others, including contractor Tinker Marak in connection with the construction of the college building based on the order of Meghalaya Lokayukta passed in March this year.
The SP should take necessary steps for resumption of investigation of the Tikrikilla PS case no. 3 (3) 2011 and get the investigation completed under his supervision and monitoring, said Kingstone Bolwari, a resident of.Tikrikilla, quoting the order of Lokayukta.
The complainant, who had earlier moved Lokayukta, said the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills should intimate or report the status of the money suit filed on June 7, 2011 by the Governing Body, Tirikilla College and, if the case is still pending, the official should take necessary legal steps to decide the same as expeditiously.
He said the aecretary of governing body of Tikrikilla College, may file a petition before the civil court for early adjudication of the money suit. However, till date the directions of Lokayukta were not complied with.
He asked the SP to book the contractor immediately under appropriate sections of law for indulging in corruption.
According to Kingstone,it was clearly mentioned in the order that after preliminary inquiry, the court of Lokayukta found prima faice that accused/the respondents were involved in misappropriation of Rs 1.70.99.000. “Therefore, all the accused/the respondents particularly contractor Tinker Marak should be arreste for investigation and for the interest of justice”, he added.
