
Shillong, July 14: Police arrested three persons from Assam and seized drugs, on July 13 in South West Garo Hills.
According to police, based on credible source information, a special operation was conducted on July 13 led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), South West Garo Hills, Anti-Narcotics Task Force & officers and personnel of Monabari OP & Garodoba OGC at Borkona area under Monabari OP (Ampati PS) jurisdiction and three persons namely Mostafa Sheikh (24) s/o Mohumuddin Sk of Gazarikandi, PO Radhamandabhat, PS Mankachar, Assam, Meter Ali (32) s/o Nurul Zamal Sk of Tangaon PO Dhanoa, Assam and Nur Abdin (24) Amzad Ali of Kukurmara part-II, Radhamandabhat, PS Mankachar, Assam were apprehended and several items were recovered and seized from their possession.
The seized items are 11,000 methamphetamine tablets (Yaba) weighing 1.06 kgs, three mobile phones, two motorcycles and one knife. In this connection, a case has been registered in Ampati PS under NDPS Act and investigation is on.
