Shillong, Dec 7: Police will wait for forensic report before filing chargesheet on the death of Hudderfield Rymbui (30) after he was hit by a police escort vehicle accompanying Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh on November 15.
The lady pillion rider was injured in the incident.
They were on the way to witness Cherry Blossom Festival in Ri Bhoi.
A police source said on Saturday that forensic report on the helmet of the victim is awaited as the forensic team had examined the site and also the helmet of the victim after the accident.
Police took the statements from the driver of the escort vehicle and others including the injured lady pillion rider besides seizing the escort vehicle.
Criticism over VIP culture had erupted following the incident.
Several citizens of the city also took part in a candle light vigil seeking justice to the victim.
