Shillong, May 2: In continuation to the checkings in the city, police personnel were deployment at Laitumkhrah police point on April 30.
During the operation, fines amounting to approximately Rs 1.5 lakh were imposed. Several cases of drunk driving were detected, along with multiple instances of vehicles with illegal modification.

In one incident, a scooty rider attempted to run over Unarmed Branch constable SM Sangma while trying to evade checking. Necessary legal action is being initiated in this regard.
