Shillong, Oct 9: Police have deployed Quick Reaction Team(QRT) of the CRPF in addition to other security forces to ensure peaceful celebrations of Puja.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said that besides the CRPF, the Special Operations Team( SOT) of the Meghalaya Police will also be deployed.
“We have divided the Shillong city into 11 sectors manned by senior police officers to ensure peaceful celebrations of Puja”, he added.
He said meetings were held with the functionaries of Central Puja Committee and other pandal committees in this regard.
