Police hand over missing Jorhat children to parents

Shillong, June 2: Four children from Jorhat, Assam were recovered from a hotel here.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said that on June 1, police received information that  four children (2 males and 2 females) had gone missing from Jorhat, Assam.

A search was conducted by a team from the  Sadar and the women police stations. The children were recovered from J K. International Hotel, Police Bazar .

“They are of age 16 to 17 years and one  male adult of 26 was also found with them”, the SP said.

During enquiry, the missing girls informed that they were friends and the other two children are cousins.

“They came on 31.05.26 for sightseeing without telling their parents. Yesterday itself a police team from Jorhat along with family members of the children arrived at Sadar PS and they were handed over to the parents” , the SP said.
