Shillong, Aug 14 : An officer and one home guard were awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.
As per an official communication received from the Ministry of Home Affairs, on the eve of the 79th Independence Day of India, Badalyne Kharkongor, Divisional Commandant of Home Guards,Shillong Home Guards Division and Naik Parsing Ch Marak, Central Training Institute of Civil Defence & Home Guards were awarded the Meritorious Service Medal from the Civil Defence & Home Guards.

Police get recognition
Centre also awarded Commandant Billy Graham R Marak and Assistant Sub Inspector Allan Eddie Marbaniang for meritorious police service.
