Shillong, Sept 11: The High Court of Meghalaya was informed on Monday that the FSL report on the death of former HNLC leader Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew was received.
As per the court order, A. Kumar, Advocate General assisted by S. Laloo government advocate for the state respondents submitted that with regard to the status of Mawlai P.S. Case No. 44 dated 18.08.2021, the investigation is still on and the FSL reports have just been received.
The FIR was filed by the family of Thangkhiew soon after he was shot dead by the police.
The court is hearing the petition of the family seeking a CBI probe into the matter.
The advocate general wanted the entire matter be heard, taking all the issues raised by the petitioner for consideration.
The same was not objected by TT. Diengdoh, senior counsel assisted by R. Kharsyad, counsel for the petitioner.
Accordingly, the matter will be heard on September 27.
