Shillong, Oct 6: Police used tear gas against contractual teachers who brought their families to agitate infront of main secretariat, on Thursday.
Children and pregnant women were mostly affected when the tear gas fired, the teachers said.

The contractual teachers have been agitating at the Civil Hospital junction for over a month.
Teachers said they were compelled to bring their families as they were affected after services were terminated.
It is yet to be known whether any magistrate ordered the police to fire tear gas or the police did it by themselves.
When asked , a magistrate on duty said that she just arrived.
