Police want in-camera proceedings on Cherish probe

Shillong,Jan 7: The judicial inquiry commission headed by justice (retired ) T Vaiphei probing the death of Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew, while allowing in camera proceedings after a plea of the police, however, wanted the counsel for the family of Cherish to be present during the hearing.

Though the day was for recording evidence by the commission, the police moved a petition seeking in camera hearing citing security of the witnesses. The police also wanted the family of Cherish to be excluded in such hearing.

While allowing the plea of the police, the commission wanted atleast the counsel for the family to be present during in camera hearing of the matter.
