Shillong, Oct 21: A special cover of KHADC was released by the Department of Posts( Meghalaya Postal Division) on Monday during the Philatelic Exhibition Meghapex 2024 held at the State Convention Centre, Shillong.
The event was attended by the CEM of KHADC Pyniaid Sing Syiem, Chief Postmaster Northeast Circle Sanjiv Ranjan, DGP Meghalaya I Nongrang, EMs of KHADC, students, teachers and others.
Speaking to reporters, Syiem said that the event was to promote the stamps of various regions from the past and the present.
“Today, this special cover was signed by me as CEM of the KHADC and the Postal Master of North East Circle, which will be sent to the National Museum Delhi. The council will also be able to sell these stamps,” he said.
Besides this, the KHADC got recognition from the whole of India, and this special cover explains about the KHADC in Hindi, English and the Khasi language, which is a recognition to Khasi language also”, he said.
The special cover can be printed only once , and this will benefit the collectors of stamps, he added.
