Pro-winter capital group holds 4th meeting

Shillong, March 16: The Fourth Public Meeting aimed at establishing a Winter Capital in Tura was held on March 15 at the initiative of Achik State People’s Front (ASPF)
The meeting took place at Rongrenggre playground in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills.
The meeting was attended by a significant number of citizens from East Garo Hills, alongside various organizations and associations, including notable social organizations from Williamnagar such as the A·chik Progressive Approach (APA), the Garo Hills Enlightenment Society (GES), and the Williamnagar Auto & Pick-Up Association.
During the meeting, Advocate Bernita Marak, General Secretary of ASPF, elucidated the concept of a Winter Capital and highlighted its potential advantages for the community.
Roger D. Shira, President of A·chik Progressive Approach (APA), conveyed his organisation’s commitment to supporting the leaders advocating for this initiative, assuring ongoing collaboration until the intended objectives are achieved.
Slang Goera Marak, President of the Garo Hills Enlightenment Society (GES), expressed appreciation for the dedication demonstrated by the leaders of ASPF and the Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) in advancing this cause. He also announced plans for a larger mobilization meeting throughout the East Garo Hills District.
The meeting concluded with the announcement that the subsequent gathering will be hosted in North Garo Hills, as stated by Balkarin Ch. Marak, Acting Chairman of GSMC.
