Shillong, Jan 14: Members of Project Clean Surrounding, a city-based NGO led by Jefferson Kynjing, took up the mission to clean Snongpdeng village in East Khasi Hills recently.
The project members collected bottles disposed of by visitors to the village, which is a popular tourist site. “We met the members of the Dorbar Shnong. They told us that every day, they collect plastic waste, including bottles, and keep it in one place,” said Kynjing.

Project Clean Surrounding has been collecting glass and plastic bottles and other plastic waste from around the city as well as on its outskirts.
