Shillong, Dec 10: The AITC national spokesperson Saket Gokhale has lodged a complaint to the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, condemning the unparliamentary ‘Psycho’ comment of Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong against the former.
According to Gokhale, the deputy chief minister made an extremely derogatory comment about him.
“The accused made a statement in the press referring to the undersigned as a “psycho”. This statement was covered extensively by the media in Meghalaya as well as nationally”, he said.
“The undersigned is a public figure and has a stellar reputation. By insinuating that the mental state of the undersigned is improper, the accused has committed criminal defamation against the undersigned which is liable for prosecution u/s 499 of the IPC”.
Gokhale has urged the SP to immediately register a complaint u/s 499 IPC against Tynsong for criminal defamation and furnish an acknowledgment of the same.
