Shillong, July 22: Vipin Raghuvanshi, the brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, arrived in Shillong on Tuesday to oppose the bail granted to the three co-accused in the crime- Silome James, Lokendra Tomar and his security guard Balbir.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Vipin said the purpose of his visit is to get the death certificate of his brother Raja.
“I also want to review the post-mortem report to better understand the circumstances surrounding the death”, he said.
He asserted that a petition will be filed before the High Court to cancel the bail of the three accused.
According to Vipin, despite allegations against Silome James for tampering with evidence, he was granted bail.
Vipin alleged that Sonam’s brother, Govind, betrayed their family’s trust. “On one hand, Govind expresses remorse for his sister’s actions and claims to stand with us in the pursuit of justice. On the other hand, he secretly came to Shillong and appointed legal counsel for his sister Sonam and Raj Kushwaha. This duplicity is deeply hurtful. Their family deceived us under the guise of marriage, and now Govind continues to inflict pain by working against us in secret”, he said.
Vipin will be visiting Sohra— the site where Raja was murdered. He also plans to hold a prayer service for the departed soul.
Vipin acknowledged the significant role of the people in helping uncover the truth in this case. Vipin appealed to them to continue supporting the family, not only in seeking the truth but also in ensuring that justice is served.
