Shillong, June 21: State Election Commitee of the VPP has decided to field the party general secretary Ricky AJ Syngkon as the party candidate to contest the Lok Sabha polls 2024.
The chairman of the election committee of the party, Kara Shen announced this after a meeting on Wednesday.

The party is unlikely to field any candidate for the Tura seat.
The party also ruled out pre-poll alliance with other parties to contest the Shillong seat currently held by Vincent Pala of the Congress.
To a question, Shen, who is also the vice president of the party, said that as the party wanted its president Ardent Basaiawmoit to concentrate in state politics, the decision was to field Syngkon.
