Rijiju bats for more BJP MLAs in state for flagging local issues

Shillong, Oct 22: Union minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday said the BJP requires more MLAs in Meghalaya who can be more vocal about the locals’ problems.
Speaking at a programme in the city, Rijiju said, “Meghalaya is one of the very vibrant states and NDA has to have a major role in the governance here otherwise it will be unfortunate for the people.”
ILP needs more deliberation
The minister was responding to a query on the delay of the Centre to implement the inner line permit (ILP) in the state. He was discreet in his reply saying the issue requires larger deliberation as well as consultation.
Stating that the people of Meghalaya had voted for the MDA government led by the National People’s Party (NPP) which is doing a good job, the union minister however wished that BJP had a more role in the government.
“…because more role of the BJP will bring more development and more benefits to the people. I have seen wherever BJP is in power or where BJP has a larger role in the government, the benefits to the people are much more because we have one single agenda of working for the people. We work in mission mode, we have neither time, nor energy for ourselves, we dedicate everything for the people,” the BJP leader said.
“Meghalaya deserves more MLAs from the BJP party. The present government in Meghalaya is doing good things but the good things can be given more proper push if BJP comes to bigger role in government,” Rijiju added.
