Baghel expressed satisfaction that unlike his home state Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya has only a few instances of bank robberies, murder and dowry cases.

The minister expressed happiness over the absence of dowry cases in the state compared to UP.

The Forensic Science Laboratory should be well equipped to deal with cases filed under the Narcotics Act, he added.

According to the minister, the conviction rate will increase when police get scientific evidence through  DNA test, finger prints analysis, narco test, lie detectors.

The minister added that he is glad to know that the lower courts have more women judges than men judges.

“Here without reservation, there are 32 female judges and around 22  male judges,” Baghel added.
