Shillong, July 5: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Tuesday said the cabinet acted on its own limited financial resources by providing enhanced grant-in-aid to ad hoc teachers.
When asked about the demand of the teachers for increment of Rs 18,000 for all categories, Rymbui said that whatever decided was according to the financial position of the state and it was the best decision.

To a question on 5 per cent annual increment. Rymbui said, “We will see the matter’.
Earlier in the day, FASTOM spokesperson Mayborn Lyngdoh announced the decision of calling off the strike.
He said though they are unhappy over cabinet releasing less amount, the issue of 5 per cent annual increment will be followed up by the ad hoc teachers.
