Salseng to remain with Cong, son to leave party

Shillong, Feb 2: Silman Sangma, the son of former Chief Minister Salseng Marak is set to leave the Congress to join NPP but the father refused to follow him.

Silman said on phone that he held a meeting with his supporters who suggested him to join the NPP.

“However, I could not convince my father because he wants to be with the party as he believes that he is a disciplined soldier of the party”, Silman said.

He did not get Congress ticket to contest from Resubelpara.

According to Silman, the chief minister is expected to meet him on February 4 after the filling of nominations following which he will join the NPP.
