Sanbor felicitates 76-year-old Kmoin Wahlang
Shillong, July 16: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai felicitated 76-year-old Kmoin Wahlang, the long-distance runner from Meghalaya and her coach Beningstar Lyngkhoi.
Wahlang will join the Indian athletics team for the 13th Pan Pacific Masters Games 2024 to be held in Australia from November 1 to 10.
Wahlang from Sngimawlein village of South West Khasi Hills had represented Meghalaya in different long-distance running competitions in different parts of the country.
Sanbor said that Wahlang is a living example for everyone who wants to represent the state and the country.
“This small gesture is part of the encouragement to encourage Wahlang to continue to work hard and make the state and the country proud in the Pan Pacific Masters Games 2024” said Shullai.
Besides other gifts, çgShullai donated Rs 1 lakh to Wahlang and Rs 30,000 to her coach Beningstar Lyngkhoi.
“Although we cannot attend the Pan Pacific Masters Games 2024 in Australia, we wish you the very best and bring glory to Meghalaya and the country” Shullai said.
