Shillong, Jan 29: BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai on Wednesday met Union Minister of State for DoNER, Sukanta Mazumdar, to press for direct funding to District Councils and also requested that financial assistance be provided to them.
Shullai also had discussions about the various pending projects in the state; at the same time he also requested that scholarships be released on a timely basis.

The BJP MLA also added that the union minister of state will visit Meghalaya once district council elections are over to meet the the leaders of the councils to address any concerns and legitimate demands.
