On May 22, they reached Sohra village Mawlakhiat from Shillong in a hired two-wheeler and proceeded on foot to Nongriat where they stayed at night whereas their guide returned.

On May 23 morning, they returned to Mawlakhiat but on May 24, night, the Sordar of Sohrarim found their two-wheeler with key and reported to the police.

Earlier, Raja’s mother spoke to them on May 23 whereas on May 24, their mobile phones were switched off.

On May 25 afternoon, the rental company of the two-wheeler at Keating Road in the city, was traced.

The fact that the scooty was hired for four days till May 25 deepens the mystery of the  missing couple.

The incident comes after the recent missing case of a Hungarian tourist Zolt Puskas whose body was found on April 10 after he went missing from Tyrna area of Sohra on March 29.
