Shillong, April 26: Police have beefed up security after a petrol bomb attack on the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Friday.
An FIR was lodged after the petrol bomb landed at the residence of Dhar at Nongmensong .
East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi told reporters on Friday that police have provided security at the residences of all VIPs and vital installations following the second such incident this week.
A case was registered after the convoy of NEEPCO official also faced petrol bomb attack.
“Object’ under examination
Police downplayed petrol bomb attack by saying that one ‘object’ fell on the premises of the house of the deputy chief minister.
When further asked about petrol bomb, the SP sais, ” We are not ruling out anything”.
He added that the ‘object’ is being still examined.
He also said it was only a ‘burning rag’ thrown at the convoy of the NEEPCO official.
