Shah to hold meeting with NE CMs on July 17

Shillong, July 9: The union home minister Amit Shah will meet Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states in the city on July 17 to discuss issues concerning the region.

Border dispute may figure prominently in the meeting.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters that the union home minister will be in Shillong for two days.

“Besides the chief ministers, Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police (DGPs) will also be present,” Conrad said.

Shah will also have a meeting at North Eastern Space Application Centre (NESAC) besides inaugurating a few  projects in East Khasi Hills.

He will also visit Sohra to inaugurate a forest conservation project.

“This is a new project of tree plantation because there is a massive drive to ensure tree plantation coverage increases in Sohra area,” Conrad said.
