Shillong, April 27: The Shillong Muslim Union (SMU) has condemned the recent terror attack at Pahalgam.
Assistant General Secretary of SMU Noor Nongrum said the SMU unequivocally condemns the heinous terrorist attack targeting innocent civilians in Pahalgam.
“We express our deepest sorrow and solidarity with the victims and their families during this time of grief”, he said.
According to Nongrum, such acts of violence are not only inhumane but stand in complete contradiction to the core teachings of Islam, which promotes peace, compassion, and sanctity of human life. We firmly reject all forms of terrorism and extremism, regardless of the perpetrators or their claimed motivations’, he said.
The union called upon the authorities to take swift and just action against those responsible and urged all communities to unite against hatred and violence. “We remain committed to fostering peace, harmony, and justice in our society” he added.
