Shillong, Sep 8: Students from different institutions in the city debated the pros and cons of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 during the 25th All Shillong Dr. MM Das Memorial Inter College/Higher Secondary School Debate Competition on Saturday.
The debate’s motion, ‘NEP 2020 will remove all kinds of educational inequality’, did not win the confidence of the House when it was put to vote.

However, after a spirited session of debating for and against the motion, the St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School team won the trophy.
The event is the oldest running debate competition in the city organised by the Zenith Jubelieth Club.
