Shillong, Jan 19: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted, headed by R.A. Sangma, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Dadenggre to probe the murder of ACHIK activist Dilseng Sangma.
Earlier, police arrested eight persons, who were produced before the court.

1. Anarul Islam, aged 30 years.
2. Rafiqul Islam, aged 47 years.
3. Atowar Hussain, aged 40 years.
4. Ariful Islam, aged 30 years.
5. Ashadur Sk. aged 21 years.
6. Mozidur Hussain, aged 22 years.
7. Mofidur Hussain, aged 33 years.
8. Mozahidur Rahman, aged 22 years.
The West Garo Hills SP Abraham Sangma said they are presently in police custody for further interrogation to track down other perpetrators involved in the incident.

All out efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining perpetrators involved in the incident. The West Garo Hills District Police assure the general public and all concerned that no stone shall be left unturned to nab all the accused persons involved in the incident and bring them to justice as per the law of the land.
Further, the district police appealed to all concerned to maintain peace and harmony in the district, and not to be misled by rumours or unverified content. “All are requested to refrain from spreading or forwarding such messages, and to act responsibly on social media”, the police said. .
