Some MLAs who wanted extension of House till midnight left after mid-day: Paul Lyngdoh

Shillong,Aug 28: Some MLAs who wanted extension of the House till midnight have left the Assembly after mid-day, according to Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh.

Speaking to reporters after the session on Wednesday, Lyngdoh said a short duration discussion on tourism was participated by five MLAs of the ruling initiated by Mayralborn Syiem and not by the Opposition members.

Moreover, there were 23 supplementary demands for grants and they were passed without any cut motions from the Opposition MLAs.

Surprised over lack of participation by the opposition MLAs, Lyngdoh said that some MLAs wanted the session to be extended till midnight but they left after mid-day.

There was a demand especially from the VPP to increase the number of days for the current autumn session.

The Speaker had agreed to give more hours during the session.
