Shillong , Aug 26: The Sonapur tunnel which was blocked due to rain on Saturday morning, opened for one way traffic only to be blocked again at night due to landslide following incessant rain.
The tunnel connects Meghalaya to Silchar, Tripura and Mizoram.

The meteorological centre, Shillong said rainfall with heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur at most places over East Khasi Hills, many places over South Garo Hills, few places over East Jaintia Hills, South West Garo Hills, West Garo Hills, isolated places over West Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi, East Garo Hills in the next 24 hours.
