Shillong,May 23: Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Monday favoured an independent probe into the damage to the dome of the Assembly building.
Addressing a press conference, the Speaker said two issues- design and the construction of the dome -will be looked into.

Besides, a third party audit team will have to ensure that both the wings of the Assembly are not affected.
To a question on subcontract, the Speaker saud the PWD( buildings) carries out the assignment of contractors and not the Assembly.
The Assembly high power committee will meet on Tuesday to discuss the future course of action after visiting the site.
