Winners of motor sports to get cash prize upto Rs 4 lakh

Shillong, Jan 29: Speed Fest—Time Attack, a motorsports event will be held on January 31 and February 1 at Umroi-Umden Umsaitprah

This is a milestone as it marks the first national motorsports event in Meghalaya.

The event is organised by Meghalaya Motorsports Society in association with Motorsports Access and sponsored by The Meghalayan Age Ltd.

The winners will get cash prize upto Rs 4 lakh. The details regarding entry fees are on the registration form.

The event promises to showcase the thrill and talent of motorsports in the region and flags off grassroots project in motorsports.
This was conceptualised by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI)under the guidance of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

The project aims to nurture emerging talent and build a strong foundation for motorsports in India

Those who addressed the press conference here on Wednesday were Ativ Shah, founder & managing director, Motorsport Access, Phoebe Dale Nongrum, Chairperson Meghalaya Motorsports Society, the first female formula4 driver from the North East and the first female rally car driver from the State & North East, Sanam Sekhon, rally driver and professional drifter known as the Drift King of India and Easter Kharkongor, president of the Meghalaya Motorsport Society.

Sanam will captivate the audience with a performance during the event.

Phoebe will also attend the event, sharing her inspiring journey and showcasing her exceptional driving skills.

The organisers said Meghalaya is
gaining prominence in the national motorsports arena.

The participants will be from all over the country.and it is an occasion to connect with prominent figures in the motorsports community and celebrate the spirit of competition and innovation, Easter said.
