Shillong, Feb 19: Sports Minister Shakliar Warjri has said social media had spread false news regarding the supply of junk food during the Meghalaya Games in Tura in January this year.
He was replying to a question by Ardent Basaiawmoit (VPP) in the Assembly on the issue on Monday.

After the minister blamed the media, Ardent wanted to know whether any action has been taken for spreading such false news.
However, the minister replied in the negative.
The minister, however, admitted that only ‘light snacks were served to athletes during the opening ceremony.
