St Mary’s College felicitates 632 graduates

Shillong, Sept 3: St Mary’s College organised a felicitation ceremony at College Sports Training Centre, Oakville Campus for the outgoing graduates in Arts, Science, Computer Science, Home Science and Commerce, on Saturday.

Out of 646 students appeared for the examinations conducted by NEHU, 632 passed the degree course.

According to Sr (Dr) Mary Harrriet, secretary to the governing body and vice principal of the college, some students could not complete the course due to various reasons.

While the pass percentage is 97.83, there are 38 rank holders

The pass percentage is 100 in 12 out of 18 departments.

Sr Mary thanked the students for choosing the college while she asked the students not to disappoint their parents as education is their wealth.

Chief guest Prof. David Syiemlieh encouraged the students to excel in their fields by quoting the example of great minds.

He also urged the college to open avenues for male students too.

An outgoing graduate student pointed out that though the students faced hardships due to Covid, through hybrid mode of education, they became successful.

“We were a Covid batch. As you all know, online learning was more and we got only a year and a half for physical learning.
