Shillong, Nov 27: The BJP state president Rikman Momin has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the sitting NPP MP from Tura Agatha Sangma.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Rikman refused to comment on the performance of the sitting Congress MP from Shillong Vincent Pala.
“Right now I don’t know her (Agatha) performance. I don’t think she has done a great job because the people have to receive more central schemes but she hasn’t done it for the people,” he said.
Momin said there are some candidates, who have approached the party for ticket from Shillong and Tura parliamentary seats. “However, I will not be able to name them right now but the Centre will announce the candidates,” he said.
Momin said that cabinet minister AL Hek has expressed his interest to contest from Shillong parliamentary seat but it is up to the Central leadership. “But my duty is to forward the names of those who are applying for it,” he said.
He said the party would welcome any woman candidate to apply for a ticket.
“As BJP, it is good if the party can put up women candidates because recently 33% reservation for women has been implemented,” Momin said.
