Shillong, Oct 5: Police are keeping vigil following harassment of Pnar residents at Lapangap, West Jaintia Hills.
A police official said that since it is a harvesting season, Pnar farmers, who are working in the field, are very often prevented by the Karbi residents of the disputed area.

Peace meetings were held recently to amicably resolve the issue, he said.
“Situation remains tense but is under control so far”, police added.
Meghalaya police were camping at the Pynthor bridge to prevent disturbance from the Karbi people, and Assam Police were also informed about the situation
