Shillong, May 25: With the death of 19 more Covid patients in the last 24 hours, the total deaths in the state till date stood at 502.
In East Khasi Hills alone, as many as 409 people have died followed by 33 in West Jaintia Hills and 24 in West Garo Hills. The deaths in other districts are Ri Bhoi(9), East Jaintia Hills (7),North Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills (5 each),East Garo Hills (2),South Garo Hills (4),South West Garo Hills (3) and South West Khasi Hills (1).
On Tuesday, East Khasi Hills had 14 deaths followed by West Jaintia Hills 2 South Garo Hills 1 and East Jaintia Hills 2.
The new Covid-19 cases rose to 957.
While East Khasi Hills alone has 375 cases, Ri Bhoi stands next with 194 cases.
According to the official data released by DIPR, there are 755 recoveries.
The total active cases are 7971 while the recoveries till date are 22976 out of the 31449 total confirmed cases.
On Tuesday. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma visited Jhalupara and interacted with the members of community covid management team to ensure health protocols to bring down the number of cases.
