State registers 5 new Covid cases
Shillong, April 20: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said on Thursday that the state registered 5 new Covid cases.
The total active cases are 15 and there were 2 recoveries.
Visitors asked to quarantine
Speaking to reporters, Lyngdoh said the visitors from high positivity states should go for self quarantine
She said recently a mock drill was carried out in the state on Covid management
“Though our positivity rate is low we are not taking the situation lightly”, she said.
Recently an interaction was also held with the union health minister to discuss the Covid situation.
Vaccine issue
The minister said the state has already taken up with the Centre to assist in providing vaccines as the state government wanted people to take booster doses.
“We have low resource in the state and if the Centre can assist in providing vaccines, it would be helpful”, Ampareen said.
