State releases Rs 104.482 crore under umbrella post matric scholarship for ST students

Shillong, Oct 14:The state government made the final disbursement of the Umbrella Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students for the academic year 2025–26, channelling Rs 104.482 crore directly to 96,801 beneficiaries.

With this final release, the total disbursement across both installments stands at Rs 198.432 crore.

The release event took place at the St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, bringing together key policymakers, educators, and students .

The function was attended  by Chief Minister Conrad  Sangma, Education Minister  Lahkmen Rymbui, Arts and Culture  Minister Sanbor Shullai among others.
