Shillong, Aug 23: The state election committee of the Trinamool Congress has recommended Sadhiarani Sangma as the candidate for Gambegre bypoll.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, TMC leader Mukul Sangma said the decision awaits the approval of the AITC chairperson Mamata Banerjee.

Sadhiarani, who is the wife of TMC leader Zenith Sangma, had unsuccessfully contested from Gambegre in the 2023 Assembly polls.
She currently represents Dengnakpara Garo Hills District Council constituency.
