Shillong, Sept 5: The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, in the state, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), inaugurated a workshop on Friday that is aimed at developing a five-year vision document for the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS).
The workshop reviewed Meghalaya’s current status of NFSA implementation. The visioning exercise will culminate in a comprehensive five-year roadmap for a progressive Meghalaya by early 2026.
“This workshop is not just a meeting—it is a platform to reflect on where we stand, understand why efficient PDS matters for every citizen, and chart a clear path toward making Meghalaya a model state in food security,” said Comingone Ymbon, Minister of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
