Swift bail for two KSU activists in Laitumkrah police station attack case

Shillong, July 22: Two KSU activists, who were arrested in connection with the attack on Laitumkrah police station, have secured bail.

There was neither police custody nor judicial custody granted by the magistrate on Friday.

A police source said on Saturday that though 7 days of police custody was sought, the court of the first class judicial magistrate granted bail to the duo identified as Kyrmenlang  Mawrie from Laitkor and Kordorlang Thangkhiew, a resident of Nongthymmai.

The attack on Laitumkrah police station on July 7 ended in torching of vehicles.

The violence at the police station was following the clash between two groups of people over passage of vehicles in the area.
