Shillong, March 30: Local taxi drivers are not bothered about the recent transport department’s order to revert to old rate that prevailed during pre-Covid period .They were also allowed to take passengers as per the system of pre-Covid period.
The government had issued the notification on March 30.

However, the experience of the passengers is that the taxi drivers do not want to go back to the old rate.
One of the taxi drivers said, “, We know about the order but we are charging the same rate since the petrol rate has not changed.
Sources said the petrol rate has nothing to do with reverting to the old rate .
The passengers sought immediate action from the transport department against the erring local taxi drivers.
