TDCA league championship concludes with Miracle win

Shillong, May 21: The league championship organised by Tura District Cricket Association (TDCA) concluded on Monday with the match between Kimkro and Miracle. The latter won the title.

The action unfolded in a rain-delayed encounter with both teams facing off in a reduced 20-over contest. Miracle won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a challenging target for last year’s champion Kimkro.

Miracle’s batsmen delivered a stellar performance, putting up a formidable total of 193 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 19.4 overs. The top contributors for Miracle were Arien Bonchang with a solid 51 runs, supported by Lerry who scored 30 runs and Ram Gurung who chipped in with 27 runs. Kilco was the standout bowler for Kimkro, taking 3 crucial wickets to stem the flow of runs.

In their chase, Kimkro showed resilience and determination as they fought hard to reach the target set by Miracle. Despite a valiant effort, Kimkro fell just 5 runs short needing 6 runs of the last ball, managing to score 188 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Tengchan emerged as the standout performer for Kimkro, playing brilliant innings and scoring an impressive 90 runs to keep his team in the hunt.

Ultimately, Miracle emerged victorious in a closely contested match, securing a hard-fought win over Kimkro in their quest for the league championship.
