Testing once in ten days mandatory in lieu of vaccination

Shillong, June 22: The business establishments that choose not to get vaccinated should get themselves tested once in every ten days so as to exercise social responsibility.

The East Khasi Hills deputy commissioner, in line with the decision of the health department, issued an order on Tuesday regarding the testing as this will ensure safety of the society.

The order also said all shops prior to opening will place a sign or poster indicating vaccination status of the proprietor and staff as this will instill confidence among the people and help them make their own choices.

Drivers of commercial vehicles, including local taxis, auto-rickshaws, maxi cabs and buses will also display the vaccination status clearly on the windshield when they are allowed to operate.

Another order is that random testing will be carried out in areas largely visited by people.
