Shillong, Nov 18: Three persons from Manipur were arrested and heroin worth Rs 14 crore was seized in Ri Bhoi on Friday morning.

Police said on November 17 night while carrying out checking at Mawdaron, Saiden under Nongpoh police station, one passenger bus (MN 01AA0484) coming from Manipur via Assam was intercepted and detained on November 18 morning.
Later, 158 soap boxes containing heroin worth Rs 14 crore in international market were detected and seized. The weight of the contraband is 1.85 kg.
Besides the heroin, the bus and three mobile phones were also seized.
The arrested persons from Manipur have been identified as Rashijuddin (33), Saddam Husain (34) and Md Iqbal Husain( 31)-all from Kwakta, Bishnupur district.
