Tripura gears up to welcome President Draupadi Murmu

Agartala, Oct 10 (UNI): With the ending of Durga puja celebration on Monday, Tripura administration geared up to welcome President Draupadi Murmu on her maiden visit to the state for two days from Wednesday.

While Chief Minister Manik Saha had held several rounds of meetings in between the puja celebration and complete holidays for the last nine days in all the government establishments, the Director General of Police Amitabha Ranjan held security coordination meetings for three days over the President’s visit.

According to report, a team of officials from Rashtrapati Bhawan is scheduled to arrive in Agartala on Monday to oversee the preparation for President’s visit. She would flag off the Agartala-Kolkata passenger train on Thursday from the Agartala railway station besides, inaugurating and laying the foundation of a host of projects and institutions.

Officials said Murmu will arrive here at 11.15 AM where she will be accorded a guard of honour.
