Shillong, May 20: Police on Tuesday arrested a truck driver for causing the death of pick-up van driver at Star Cement company.
East Jaintia Hills police said that in connection with the road accident that occurred on May 18 within the Star Cement factory premises, in which a pick-up vehicle driver died on the spot, and which subsequently triggered a violent mob attack at the location, a criminal case has been registered against the truck driver involved at Lumshnong police station.

“The accused truck driver has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Necessary legal action has been initiated as per the relevant provisions of law”, a statement by the police said.
