Shillong,July 27: BJP MDC from Tura Bernard Marak has expressed disappointment over the premature conclusion of the 14th session of the GHADC, citing the need for a special session to address the critical issue of non-payment of salaries for 43 months.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Marak said the employees are facing significant hardships in meeting daily expenses, paying educational fees, and attending to medical needs.
“The Executive Committee’s failure to provide assurances or discuss initiatives has exacerbated the situation. In previous sessions, I have offered numerous suggestions to the Executive Members to generate additional revenue, but they have been unsuccessful despite multiple proposals. The lack of all-party meetings and discrepancies in the state’s share details have added to the urgency. A special session is necessary to clarify these matters, and I will request it through His Excellency the Governor of Meghalaya”, Marak added.
