Dated Tura, 29th September 2024
Shri Conrad K. Sangma
Honourable Chief Minister,
Government of Meghalaya.

Sub : Issues concerning unemployment of educated youths in the State and about 500000 jobs assured to the youths of the state during election.

Sir,

In reference to the subject cited above, I would like to ask your Government of the steps
taken to fulfil the promises you made during the election with assurance of 5,00,000 jobs to the youths.

Sir, your assurance which you made to the youths that if voted back to power as the
Chief Minister of the State you shall accommodate 500000 youths lingers as the only hope to the struggling youths of the State. We all believe that being the Chief Minister it is possible to accommodate 500000 youths by giving them permanent job as now you have absolute
majority. Sir, the youths have voted for your party with high hope and expectation but there
seems to be disappointment among the youths especially the educated one who after pursuing higher studies are left without job and their strive to have a better life seems to be a never ending struggle against those who are rich and in power.
Sir, recently there was a selection for the nurses, home guard and other jobs but there
seems to be lack of transparency in the selection process which some youths have pointed out.
Sir, I pray that such things should not happen in our state as ours is a Christian State. I would rather suggest that the fair process of selection should be carried out so that there is no deprivation of the right candidates and there is no injustice to the eligible applicants. I received complaints and grievances of those who applied as they fear there is a foul play somewhere.
Other than those who are applying now, those who are already employed also have raised their grievances. Those who are employed as ASHA workers, AGANWADIs, MSSAT village
representatives, Adhoc and Government Teachers, Health workers (in Civil hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, HCs), Muster rolls working under many departments, the Home guards, mid day meal cooks and the list continues and they feel their dues are not taken care of by your government. The ASHAs who were supposed to be paid Rs 2000 to 3000 as per your political campaign remain unattended till date.

The AGANWADI workers are yet to receive their dues as assured officially.
Many of those who were trained under MSSAT were removed from their job. The anticipation
to get their dues cleared remains a far fetched dream to many of these employees. Sir, under
your able leadership, kindly look into their grievances so that the weaker and the poor are contended failing which it will leave a very bad precedence.

Lastly, If any kind of assistance is required from our side to rectify the issues mentioned
here and march forward to a Self Reliant State and be proudly declare our state under Viksit
Bharat , we will be most eager to assist your initiative to create 500000 jobs to the youths of the State which would change the graph of the state.
Therefore, Kindly acknowledge and do the needful for which I would be very grateful.
Thanking you in anticipation of your response, initiative and necessary action,
Sincerely yours,
Bernard N Marak
MDC Tura.
